"Addressing Community Challenges through Non-violence Engagement & Dialogue"

With support from the United States Government through it's Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF), This call seeks to bring together peace-building organizations and stakeholders / duty bearers within the Mano River Union Countries (Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea & Ivory Coast) while it is packaged to have an overall wider multiplier impact at local, national, regional and international levels for conflict resolution, mitigation and post-conflict peace-building.
According to the United Nations (UN) document, An Agenda for Peace, peace-building consists of a wide range of activities associated with capacity building, reconciliation, and societal transformation. Peacebuilding is a process that facilitates the establishment of durable peace and tries to prevent the recurrence of violence by addressing root causes and effects of conflict through reconciliation, institution building, and political as well as economic transformation. This consists of a set of physical, social, and structural initiatives that are often an integral part of post-conflict reconstruction and rehabilitation. Important in this agenda as well is the need for inter-regional cooperation, networking and capacity building of peace builders to combat extremism, promote peace and reconciliation amidst crisis and even as realities and circumstances changes. “Addressing Challenges in Communities through Non-violence Engagement & Dialogue” project has been designed to equip the stakeholders in the field with skills and knowledge on how to implement peace-building initiatives that can withstand the test of the crisis. If you are a Youth active in the fields either within Government (Security & Ministries), INGOs, NGOs or local Community Based Organizations, and have the potential to translate or replicate the knowledge gained during this training conference to your communities, please submit an application taking into consideration the following simple elements:
1. A brief description of your professional background, current work and why you have chosen to apply to this Training of Trainers (ToT) program.
2. Describe your previous experience in local community, national or international Peacebuilding and how it has impacted / transform lives (possible links to your work online would be useful).
3. How do you think you can contribute to this Training of Trainers?
4. What skills and knowledge do you hope to gain from this Training of Trainers conference and what potentials do you have to translate these into practical activities in your community / country / region?

Who should apply?
* Applicants must be between the ages of 18-35
* Citizens or resident of any of the Mano River Union countries for which there are a limited number of scholarships covering (Transportation, Meals, Lodging, Registration and all Training materials) are encouraged to apply.
* Applicants must be Fluent in English (all training would be conducted in English)
* Applicants must demonstrate proven interest and experience in conflict resolution, mitigation, interfaith dialogue, preventing violent extremism, building social cohesion, and community Peacebuilding.
