Hello Friends, Families and well-wishers, We have come to the end of another year as we continue to recover from the adverse challenges that COVID caused. As you may now be aware, at the end of every year since the past four years, Herbert Bangura & the Young Peace Builders (YPB) http://www.youngpeacebuilders.org in Sierra Leone have been collaborating with individuals like Samuel Smith from the Krannert Center at the University of Illinois, Dr. Janice Marie Collins of the World Changers Media International Foundation, Amadu Massally of Fambul-Tik Foundation and You, delivering a series of Peacebuilding and community development activities. Notable is the Annual Christmas Bash or end of year festivities for underprivileged Children in remote communities/villages in diverse provincial areas in Sierra Leone. All of these could never have been possible without your support and these Children could never be happier if it wasn’t for your kind donations or financial gifts. Since we started this journey, we have been able to put smiles on the faces hundreds of Children who have never been opportune to celebrate and have access to a good meal like their peers in other developed countries especially during the festive seasons.
Despite the adverse negative impact of COVID-19, we still were able to spread the love. This year, we are hosting the annual Christmas Bash / end of year festivities in honour of a child hero (Ishmeal Kamara) whom we lost to the cold hands of death at the tender age of 5 years. This little boy was a leader amongst his peers and would always bring his friends (Children from the neighbourhood) together and anticipating every years’ program. In order to make this year’s program possible, Fambul-Tik Foundation https://fambultik.com/ together with Coalition Peace UK https://coalitionpeace.org/ and River Phoenix center for Peacebuilding https://www.centerforpeacebuilding.org/ is partnering with Young Peace Builders (YPB) https://facebook.com/youngpeacebuilders.org to feed 200-300 Children. As always, the feeding will be complemented with gifts items, music performances and games with the Children. We know these are challenging times for everyone across the Globe but we cannot afford to not continue touching lives in need with our generosity and kindness. In doing so, we are reminded of the fact that: “We can't help everyone, but everyone can help someone.” “A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees.” “Every child you encounter is a divine appointment.” “Children are like wet cement: whatever falls on them makes an impression.” “Children are the hands by which we take hold of heaven.”All of these we cannot achieve without your support, therefore, we are reaching out to you again this year, asking for your tireless generosity to enable us achieve the goal of making the difference in the lives of these beautiful angels. Because of the adverse negative effects of COVID-19 and the economic downturn negatively affecting the lives of these Children, some of which lost their parents to the cold hands of death, we are seeking your financial and in kind donations.
